“Waldorf summer camp is excellent. My children loved coming here every day!”
– Parent of a Grasshopper (Pre-k) and a Raccoon (1st)
“My kids love Waldorf camp-they have stories of what they did at bedtime every night – its good outdoor imaginative play-the way camp should be! I love that they are playing and being kids all summer. The counselors make the camp!”
– Parent of a Bumblebee (K) and Raccoon (1st)
“The program is amazing. Everyone is very kind, fun and caring. We would give 100 stars if we could!”

“Warm, safe, attentive, caring, and fun-those are our top requirements for a summer camp and Summer at the Waldorf School provides just that! The kids had an awesome summer and look forward to returning! Their counselors were very nurturing, caring, and attentive and always had a smile. Made our kids (and all the kids) feel special.”
– Parent of an Owl (2nd), Beagle (4th), and a Falcon (6th)
Our six-week CIT program is geared for ages 14 and older who are interested in becoming camp counselors or exploring personal growth and leadership experiences. Designed to help young people develop their personal awareness along with the basic skills of camp leadership, the Program is led by an experienced CIT Advisor, with support from the Camp Director and other key camp staff. This is a two-year program.
Please email: summerprogram@waldorfgarden.org for an application.
The program offers a rich play experience for the youngest campers. Activities include outdoor free play in our preschool yards, watercolor painting, seasonal crafts, singing, cooking, yoga, storytelling, rhymes, verses, and puppetry. Juice and a healthy midmorning snack are provided. Four- & five-year-old campers also participate in our swim program.
The program includes a wide variety of activities designed to engage the interest and enthusiasm of children from lower school to teen. In addition to activities led by their counselors, campers participate in tennis and pickleball (2nd-8th grades), arts & crafts, painting, yoga, music, sports & games, cooking, gardening, drama, swimming, and outdoor play. Special events include Tie-Dye Week, Field Day and “Summertime Stars” talent show. Campers bring lunch from home each day, and the camp provides a mid-morning snack.
An important feature of our program is the flexible scheduling option. While we encourage all our campers to take advantage of the full program, we recognize that family vacations and other activities may conflict with camp. Parents can create a part-time schedule that suits their family needs with tuition on a pro-rated basis (see accompanying fee schedule). Please note that a minimum of 24 days of enrollment is required for every camper. Childcare is available before camp, and after the camp day ends until 6 pm, for $10 per hour.
The Morning Care Program is available daily beginning at 7:30 AM. The After Care Program is available daily until 6:00 p.m.
The After Care Program provides campers with wholesome childcare that includes snack and free play. Students can be enrolled in both programs on a regular schedule or an “as needed” basis.
Campers age 4 and older have regular swimming at the newly renovated Adelphi University pool facilities. The swimming program includes a structured “Learn to Swim” program focused on fun and water safety.

Our 4th – 8th grade campers enjoy the following field trips: Mini golf at the Spring Rock Miniature Golf Course (5th – 8th grade), bowling at the bowling alley at 360 Bowl, and Mini Golf at the newly renovated Garden City Miniature Golf Course (4th – 8th grade). Trips will be based on summer 2026 health and safety guidelines.
