Rie Seo
Rie holds a BA in Drama from Tamagawa University in Tokyo and an MFA in Theater Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She earned a certificate in early childhood education from LifeWays and a diploma in Waldorf early childhood teacher education from Sunbridge Institute. She has completed Nurturing the Roots, a three-year advanced training in child observation and support, as well as a three-year remedial and learning support training through Waldorf Learning Support. She also serves as a teacher educator for Sunbridge Institute.
Before joining WSGC, Rie worked as the aftercare lead teacher at the New Amsterdam School and led nursery and parent/child programs at a Waldorf-inspired Japanese Saturday program in Brooklyn. She also founded and taught outdoor parent/child classes in Queens, bringing a love of nature and rhythm to families in urban settings.
Originally from Japan, her background in the arts, cross-cultural experiences, and therapeutic training infuse her work with creativity, depth, and a reverence for the unfolding of early childhood.
