Cybelle Afable

Cybelle is a radiant and deeply experienced educator whose career spans over 20 years across Waldorf schools in New York City and Madrid, Spain. Most recently, she has been teaching in our Mixed-Age Kindergarten. In addition to other educational experiences, she was a class teacher for 18 years at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York, where she lovingly guided three cohorts of students through the lower school years. Her ability to weave her keen understanding of child development with storytelling, nature-based exploration, watercolor painting, and play-based learning in the classroom has provided students with solid foundations for future learning.

Cybelle brings particular gifts in supporting neurodiverse learners and English Language Learners, ensuring every child feels seen, known, and celebrated. She is fluent in Spanish, holds an MA in Elementary Teacher Education from Sunbridge College and has a postgraduate background in Speech and Language Pathology. She brings a richness of knowledge that quietly informs how she listens to and meets each child. Her family partnerships are built on deep trust and genuine care.
