Students learn immeasurable and unique lessons through participation in interscholastic athletics, and the after school sports program is open to all students in Grades 7-12. With a long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics, the Waldorf School of Garden City has achieved numerous honors in the Independent Private and Parochial School Athletic League, (IPPSAL).
A variety of sports are available to Middle and High School students. Click the following links to access the teams' schedules.
Participation in athletics on the High School level requires a strong level of commitment, and a greater emphasis is placed on skill development and competition. While individual student skills are developed, team play and sportsmanship are emphasized over personal achievement. The success of athletic programs at the Waldorf School comes from student athletes who think clearly, demonstrate a sincere concern for others, and compete with discipline and courage. Emphasis is placed on good physical conditioning, sound fundamental skills, focused effort in both practices and games, and unselfish teamwork.
